Tyler loves to participate in any sport that is thrown his way especially contact sports, hunting, fishing, and even endurance races as of late. His passion for strength and conditioning started in high school when his wrestling strength and conditioning coach introduced him to the concept of being explosive on every lift, structured programming, and training rather than traditional slow and focused (bodybuilding) movements which he still believes plays an important role in any well rounded program to develop proper technique and movement efficiency to have the greatest carry over into sport and/or life. He learned to train the body as a whole with the concept of training movements rather than isolating muscles. After being forced to overcome a shoulder injury (torn labrum amongst many other by this point), that he refused to have surgery on due to possible complications he has become very knowledgeable of sports injury correction and prevention training.
His training philosophy focuses on an ever-growing knowledge base including a focus on foundations and proficiency in basic human movements and strict programming guidelines and training principles. The main goal of his teachings in the gym include letting all athletes and individuals know that their progress can be prolonged over their entire lives with the proper mindset and outlook on how they view and perform their training compared to competition (move light weight like it is heavy weight to then thus be able to move heavy weight like it is light weight).
He also believes in pushing past limiting beliefs in the gym and in life that we have been taught from past coaches, parents, and textbooks to train the mind to believe anything is possible for those that wish to and have the internal fortitude, patience, and persistence to pursue it. His main focus is to help others set and reach goals that they never thought they could achieve physically and mentally to become just a little bit Better Every Day! He strongly believes that progress is the most basic of human needs and will constantly produce fulfillment and happiness in life if pursued consistently.
